Hoeft, Marie (Marriage - 15 July 1961)

Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday in a double ring ceremony uniting in marriage Miss Marie Hoeft, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hoeft, Granton, and Gerald A. Hanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hanson, Rt. 1, Neillsville. The Rev. Lawrence E. Schreiber performed the ceremony in the Zion Lutheran Church of Granton, the altar of which was adorned with baskets of fresh flowers. Baskets of gladioli with decorations of mint and pink decorated the church.

Mr. Hoeft gave his daughter in marriage. She was attired in a floor length gown of nylon tulle. The full bouffant skirt was accented with panels of lace and the plain bodice was styled with a lace neckline, back and sleeves.  Her fingertip veil cascaded from a crown type headpiece, edged with tinted sequins. Her bridal bouquet consisted of red roses.

Her attendants were Miss Sandra Hanson, Neillsville, as maid of honor and Mrs. William Opelt, bridesmaid.

Bestman was William J. Hoeft, and groomsman was William Opelt. Don Schumacher, Eau Claire, and Robert Gartzke, Beaver Dam, ushered.

Nuptial music was played and sung by Mrs. L. E. Schreiber and daughter, Peggy.

Two hundred guests attended the reception at the bride’s home, which was decorated in the traditional wedding décor.  A five o’clock supper was served in the church hall, and guests returned to the home of bride’s parents for the evening.

On their return July 26 from a wedding trip to Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Hanson will reside at 819 A North St, Marshfield.

The bride is a graduate of Granton High School and Wisconsin State College in Eau Claire, and has been employed in Marshfield.  Her husband, a graduate of Neillsville High School, also is employed in Marshfield.

Out-of-town guests were from Neillsville, Chili, Loyal, Marshfield, Kenosha, West Bend, Kiel, Beaver Dam, Sheboygan, New Holstein, Curtiss, Stratford, Unity, Eau Claire, Spencer, Chippewa Falls, Auburndale, Owen and Cashton.
