Murphy, Marjorie (Marriage - 1 July 1961)
Nuptial vows were repeated Saturday in a double ring ceremony in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville uniting in marriage Miss Marjorie Murphy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Murphy, Rt. 3, Neillsville, and James Kurasz, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kurasz, also of Rt. 3 Neillsville. Baskets of pink, red and white peonies banked the altar.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, entered the church wearing a floor length gown of silk organza with lace inserts styled with a chapel train. The fitted lace bodice was fashioned with a scoop neckline. Her fingertip veil was attached to a pill box crown and she carried a bouquet of red roses entwined with greens.
Marton of honor was Mrs. Wayne Turville of Milwaukee, and her bridesmaid was Miss Karen Murphy of Black River Falls.
The groom was attended by Wayne Turville as bestman. His groomsman was LeRoy Johnson of Greenwood. Edward and Lee Kurasz, Neillsville, ushered.
Carrying the rings on a white satin pillow was Billy Kurasz as ring bearer. Linda Ormond, as flower girl, carried a basket of flowers.
Robert Mitte, soloist, sang, "The Lord’s prayer," and "O Perfect Love."
Wedding day events included a reception at the home of the bride and a dance in the Weston Town Hall. After their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin the couple will reside on Rt. 3, Neillsville.
Mrs. Kurasz is a graduate of the Greenwood High School and has been employed in Milwaukee. Mr. Kurasz was graduated from the Neillsville High School and is employed on construction work.
