Whittemore, Nancy (2 JUL 1955)

 

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Loyal was the scene of the wedding of Miss Nancy Whittemore and Jerome A. Davel, Saturday July 2, 1955 at 8 a.m.  The Rev. N. E. King was officiant at the services.

 

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Glen Rossow, Loyal, and Gilbert Whittemore, Oglesby, Ill.  Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Davel, Loyal, are the parents of the groom.

 

Miss Whittemore chose for her wedding a ballerina length gown of white, a white half-hat, and a bouquet of red roses and white carnations.  Her jewelry was a four string pearl necklace.

 

Miss Irene Wolf of Loyal, as maid of honor, wore a ballerina length gown of pink net over taffeta and a pink hat, and carried a bouquet of pink roses and pink tinted carnations.

 

The sister of the groom, Miss Mary Ann Davel of Waukegan, Ill., wore a ballerina length gown of blue net over taffeta and a blue bridesmaid headpiece, and carrying pink roses and blue tinted carnations was bridesmaid.

 

John Castner was best man and Allan Wehrman served as groomsman.

 

St. Anthony’s Choir furnished the music.

 

A ten o’clock breakfast was served in the bridal group and parents, and a reception was held in the afternoon and evening at the home of the groom’s parents.

 

Mrs. Rossow wore a light nylon print and a corsage of red and white carnations and the senior Mrs. Davel wore a navy blue dress and a corsage similar to that of the bride’s mother.

 

The groom is a graduate of the Loyal High School, class of 1955.  He is employed by Lakeshire - Marty Cheese Co.  The bride attended the Loyal High School.  They will live at Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) .

 

Guests from away were Mary Ann Davel and Allan Wehrman, Waukegan, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry De Young, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Paulson and Mary Lou, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Diestler, and Mrs. Bert Weiland, New London; Mr. and Mrs. George Bellile, Hortonville; A/3-c Gerald Brasier of Chanute Field, Rantoul, Ill.; and Miss Marion Barofka, Marshfield.
