Mielke, Betty Margot (Marriage - 29 April 1961)

Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshfield was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Betty Margot Mielke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mielke of Marshfield, and Walter Embke of Marshfield son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Embke of Neillsville. The Rev. G. M. Krueger performed the double ring ceremony before an altar adorned with a bouquet of yellow and white spider chrysanthemums and snapdragons.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a white gown of nylon organza over Peau De Soie, with a plain panel fashioning in front of the skirt.  A headpiece of nylon organza featuring artificial orange blossoms, held her fingertip veil.  A colored orchid on a white prayer book made up her bridal bouquet.

Miss Janet Schumacher of Wausau, a cousin of the bride, was her maid-of-honor. Another cousin, Miss Gail Mielke of Marshfield, was bridesmaid.

The groom was attended by his brother, Norbert Embke of Neillsville, as bestman. Robert Mielke, brother of the bride, served as his groomsman.  Ushers were Carl Mielke of Milladore and Donald Pflughoeft of Neillsville.

A reception was held in the parish hall.

The bride is a graduate of the Marshfield High School.  Her husband is a graduate of the Neillsville High School, and is a commercial pilot and flight instructor at the Wausau Municipal Airport.

On their return from a wedding trip to the Black Hills, they will reside in Wausau.
