Greaser, Edna V. (27 SEP 1883 - 23 JAN 1963)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. George Greaser, 79, who died at her home on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 1963, were held Saturday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church at Abbotsford at 2 o’clock.  The Rev. Douglas P. Oyan of Marshfield officiated and Miss Dorothy Kieser was organist.  Miss Kieser and Mrs. Weldon Brown Jr. sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset."

 

The pallbearers for the interment, made in the Abbotsford Cemetery, were Royal Archambo, Hugo Erickson, Clarence Gosse, George Kelsey, Art Leichtnam, and Robert Mueller.

 

Edna Viola McKean was born Sept. 27, 1883 in Pittsburg, Pa., and was married there to George Greaser, Nov. 17, 1903.  They lived in Pittsburg for a time and then moved to Iowa and came to the Abbotsford area in 1919 and operated a farm just west of the village until 1942 when they moved to town.

 

Mrs. Greaser was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

 

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Fern) Vandehey, Colby; Mrs. Ed (Mary) Pacholke, Eau Claire; and four sons, Elmer, West Allis; George Jr., Dorchester; Ross, Amherst; and Myron, Abbotsford.

 

There are three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  One sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Michaelis of Pittsburgh, also survives.

 

Preceding her in death was a daughter, Thelma, and a sister and three brothers.

 

Among the close relatives from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Greaser and Ronnie, West Allis; Mr. and Mrs. Ross Greaser, Amherst; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pacholke, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. George Greaser Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Smith, Dorchester; and Mr. and Mrs. James McClellan, Horicon.

 

Friends from Abbotsford, Colby, Unity and vicinity also attended.
