Cherney, Marcia J. (1 DEC 1962)

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Denzin are making their home in Wausau.  Their marriage took place Saturday evening, Dec. 1, 1962, in an 8 o’clock ceremony at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wausau, with the Rev. Duane C. Ploven officiating.

The bride is the former Marcia Jean Cherney of Wausau, daughter of Maj. and Mrs. Ernest C. Cherney, Ft. Bragg, N.C.  The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Denzin, Route 1, Abbotsford.

For her wedding the bride chose a white woolen dress cut on princes lines with a full skirt.  Velvet bows trimmed her "whimsy" hat and red roses and white pompons were combined in the bridal bouquet.

Miss Beverly Busche of Wausau and Wallace Sprotte of Abbotsford attended the couple.

The maid of honor was attired in a green sheath dress accented with a corsage of peppermint carnations.

Following the ceremony, dinner was served at Bill’s Find Foods to 15 guests, among who were the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Beck of Adams, Minn.  A wedding reception is being planned for Dec. 22 when the bride’s parents will be able to attend.

The groom is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School with the class of 1957 and is employed by Ed Pufahl, a Wausau contractor.  His bride, a graduate of the John Marshall Senior High School at Rochester, Minn. attended the Marathon County Extension Center for two years and is employed as a credit clerk at Employers Mutual at Wausau.
