Voight, Mary  (12 JAN 1864-? APR 1953

Mary (Grandma) Voight, 89, passed away Tuesday evening this week at 11 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Death was caused by the complications of old age. She had been in the hospital since January 30th.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Loyal Methodist Church. The Rev. Lee Holmes of La Crosse will officiate and burial will be made in Loyal Cemetery.

 

Mary DeLoye was born January 12, 1864 in Kekoske, Wis. In 1880 she was married to Fred Voight. Following this they moved to Loyal and opened the Centeral Hotel until it burned in 1924. She then operated a gift and dress shop until she retired. She has been a resident of Loyal for 40 years.

 

She was a member of the Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of America, the America Legion Auxiliary, and the WCSS of the Methodist church. Her husband died in 1935.

 

Surviving her are two daughters, Julia Voight, Platteville; Mrs. Archie (Agnes) Leemon, Watertown; and three sons, Harvey, Wauwatosa; Hal and Percy, both of Loyal. Fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive. A brother, Leland DeLoye, St Paul.

 

Her husband, one son, and 12 brothers and sisters preceded her in death
