Anthofer, Catherine  (06 Mar 1874-05 Mar.1953)

 

Mrs. Carl Anthofer, 78, Wisconsin Rapins, a former Loyal resident, died Thursday morning, March 5, 1953, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

 

Mrs. Anthofer, the former Catherine Reiter, was born in Rochester, N.Y., March 6, 1874. She was married to Martin Christenson at March Rapids in 1893. The family moved to Loyal and made their home here for many years. Mr. Christenson died in 1933. In 1937 she was married to Carl Anthofer. Following this marriage they made their home in Wisconsin Rapids. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.

 

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Frank Christenson, Loyal and James Christenson, Loyal, and three grandchildren.

 

A son and a sister preceded her in death.

 

Funeral services were held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7. The Rev. N. E. King officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery.

 

Pall bearers were Julius Nystad, James Bertz, H. E. Catlin, Ed Kreuser, Albert Davel, and William Theisen.

 

Those from away who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Christenson, Madison; Mrs. Ann Baker and daughter, Nancy, and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Baker and children, Milwaukee.\; Mrs. Pearl Kreiser and Miss Beverly Tucker, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Moung, Milwaukee; and Carl Anthofer, Wisconsin Rapids.
