Viergutz, Minnie (5 May 1878 - 12 March 1961)

 

Mrs. Frank A. (Minnie) Viergutz, 208 Bruley St. Neillsville, died March 12, in Langley, Wash., at the home of her son, with whom she spent the winter. Funeral services were conducted Monday from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Norman Lindloff, officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

The former Minnie Klages was the daughter of the late Frederick and Dora (Schultz) Klages. She was born May 5, 1878, in Chippewa Falls.  On October 2, 1901, she was married to the late Frank Viergutz.  In 1912 they came to Clark County, where they were engaged in farming.

 

For several years Mr. Viergutz operated a cheese factory in the Town of York.  After retiring from cheesemaking they purchased a farm in Pine Valley and in 1934 moved to Neillsville, when Mr. Viergutz became manager of the Neillsville Milk Products Cooperative.

 

Last December 13, Mrs. Viergutz left to spend the winter with her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Rinehold Viergutz, in Langley, Wash., and at the time of her death was preparing to return here.

 

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid and Dorcas societies.

 

Two sons survive: they are Theodore of Neillsville, and Rinehold of Langley, Wash.

 

Pallbearers were: Paul Jacob, William Milbreit, John Gloff, George Shaw, Frank Zickert and Edwin Allen.

 

"Abide with Me" and "Abide, O Dearest Jesus" were sung by Janice Greeler, accompanied by Victor Lehman at the organ.

 

People from away here for the services were: Rinehold Viergutz, Clinton, Wash.; Mrs. Alfred Viergutz, Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Klages, Edward Klages, Mrs. Lillian Frederick, Mr. and Mrs. Albert LaFaive, Mrs. Alice Ryan, Mrs. Lawrence Kinderman, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Woodford, all of Chippewa Falls; Fred Viergutz, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Reinard Hintz, Marion; Mrs. Juel Swenson and son, and Mrs. Lena Anderson, Brentwood.
