Pozega, Anna (7 August 1881 - 13 March 1961)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas (Anna) Pozega, Sr., 79, of Rt. 1, Willard, will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o’clock, from Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey of the United Church of Christ will officiate.  He will be assisted by members of the S. N. P. J. Lodge of which she was a member.  Mrs. Pozega died Monday in Neillsville.  Burial will be made in the Willard National Cemetery.

 

The former Anna Samson was born August 7, 1881, in Europe and was educated there. At the age of 29, she came to the United States, locating in Pennsylvania.

 

She was married in 1908 in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Thomas Pozega, Sr., who died in 1956. They resided in Pittsburgh for a few years before moving to the west.

 

They located on a farm in the town of Hendren, which they cleared and on which they built the farm buildings. A son, Frank now operates the farm.  Mrs. Pozega had made her home there for the last 48 years.

 

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Mary Krulac, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Prucha and Mrs. John (Margaret) Orzac, all of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Charles (Ann) Sackett, Fairchild; John Pozega, Chicago, Ill.; Thomas Pozega, Neillsville; Mrs. John (Christine) Gartz, Champlin, Minn.; Mrs. Joseph (Frances) Petkovsek, Willard; and Frank Pozega, Willard.  Twenty five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
