Machlett, Christina (17 NOV 1877 - 1 MAY 1962)

 

Mrs. Fred Machlett, 84, formerly of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), died at Tijuras?, N.M., on May 1, 1962 and funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, Owen.  The Rev. William Anderson of Dodgeville was the officiating clergyman.

 

Mrs. Opal Peissig and Mrs. Robert Mattson, accompanied by Mrs. Alfred Thompson, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Under His Wing."

 

Pallbearers for the interment made in the Curtiss cemetery were Lloyd Randall, James Machlett, Charles Bejiner?, Jerold and Jerome Johnson and John Hanson

 

The former Christina Hanson was born Nov. 17, 1877, in Abbotsford.  She was married in 1898 to Fred Machlett in Withee.  The couple lived in the Curtiss and Owen areas until his death in 1948, when she went to New Mexico to live with her son, Henry Machlett.

 

She is survived by her son and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Evelyn) Rice, Toledo, Ohio; two brothers, Peter and Ole Hanson of Abbotsford, and five sisters, Mrs. Laurel Bailey, Houston, Tex.; Mrs. Jack (Sena) Mote, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Pauline Randall, Owen; Miss Anna B. Hanson and Mrs. Norma Johnson, Abbotsford.

 

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son.
