Tom Weyhmiller, Mary Beth Cowles and Katherine Trnka returned to Madison Thursday after spending from Saturday to Thursday at home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Emil Podobnick of Milwaukee were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shefchik. Sunday they were sponsors at the baptism of Sherri Lynn, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Michalski, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield.

 

The birthday circle met three times last week.  Tuesday afternoon they met at the Kate Vogel home with 16 present. Tuesday evening they met at the home of Mrs. George Schlagenhaft with 10 present; and Thursday afternoon Mrs. Floyd Christie was the hostess and 10 attended.

 

Carmella Grambsch, a student at the University, Madison, returned to her studies last Thursday after spending the mid-semester vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Grambsch.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Pieper entertained at a birthday party in honor of Mrs. Pieper last week Wednesday evening. Those attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Pieper, Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olson and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Helm and family, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Rueth and son, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Luber and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wolfe and family.  Cards were played and a lunch was served.

 

Mrs. Ed Dobbe entertained the Bunco club at her home last week Wednesday afternoon. Those attending were: Mrs. Alvina Wehrman of Greenwood; Mrs. Harry Greve, Unity; Mrs. Walter Westhoff, Mrs. Carl Soltow, Mrs. Allen Luber, Mrs. August Luber, Mrs. Earl Zabel, Mrs. Ervin Schmidt, Mrs. Elsie Litka, Mrs. Anna Duell and Mrs. Allen Fravert. A potluck lunch was served.

 

Lothar Oestreich returned home Thursday from the hospital where he was a surgical patient for about a week and a half.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hoeser spent several days recently in Milwaukee visiting their son, Dale, who is a patient at Columbia Hospital, on Maryland Ave.
