Seif, Mr. and Mrs. John (58th - 16 January 1961)
The 58th wedding anniversary of Mr. an Mrs. John Seif will be observed next Monday at their home on West First Street.
John Seif, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Seif, and Della Jacklin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jacklin, were married by Justice of Peace Arthur E. Dudley, at the Dudley home in Neillsville, January 16, 1903. They were attended by David Seif and Mrs. Grace Seif. The Seif and Jacklin families were pioneers of Clark County; the Seif’s giving the Town of Seif its name.
While a resident of the Town of Seif, Mr. Seif served 14 years as town chairman, two years as town assessor, and 12 years as treasure of Worchel School. They moved to Neillsville in 1947, purchasing the former Sontag residence at 305 West First Street, which is their present home.
Three children were born to them: Mrs. Lloyd (Viola) Nelson of Milaca, Minn., Harley of Milwaukee, and Robert a third generation farmer operating the farm formerly managed by his father and grandfather.
Mr. Seif was one of seven brothers, who included Dave of Neillsville, Charles of La Crosse, and four, Frank, Will, Louis and Fred, are deceased; Louis was killed in World War I.
