Order of the Eastern Star "O.E.S." (Loyal, Wisconsin Meeting - 1954)

 

Past Matrons and Past Patrons, of Iris Chapter, O. E. S. were honored at the Monday evening meeting.  A brief history of the chapter was given by Worthy Matron, Mrs. Harold Hills.

 

Of the 11 living charter members six were present Monday evening.  Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hales, Mrs. O. W. Trindal, Mrs. G. W. Nelson, Mrs. Perry Volk, and Mrs. Henry Rottjer.  J. R. Thomas, present Worthy Patron and a charter member was unable to attend the meeting.  He has the honor of being the first Worthy Patron.  Mrs. Harry Haslett of Fond du Lac was the first Worthy Matron.  There are 22 living Past Worthy Matrons and seven Past Worthy Patrons many of whom were present for the occasion, and each received a corsage or boutonniere.  Harry De Graw, a Past Patron who has been ill for some time, was able to attend the meeting.

 

Past Matron, Mrs. Roy Pengelly, and Past Patrons, Roy Pengelly, Norman Prior, and Clarence Marvin, also Mrs. Clarence Marvin, all of Marshfield, were present.

 

Special music during the evening was rendered by the Rev. and Mrs. W. M. Mecklenburg.  Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Milton served the lunch.

 

Fifteen members of Iris Chapter attended Friends’ Night in Greenwood, November 9.

 

The next meeting, December 6, will be election of officers.
