Wincek, Ronald "Ron" John (13 October 1944 - 11 January 2011)

Ronald (Ron) John Wincek, age 66, of Tacloban City (Philippines), formerly of Chippewa Falls, WI, Grand Prairie, TX and Amarillo, TX, succumbed to illness on January 11, 2011. Ron was born on October 13, 1944, in Stanley, WI, to Mack and Gladys Wincek. Ron retired to the Philippines after many successful years of being an entrepreneur of a long-haul trucking company and, in later years, a logistic company.

Ron had a love of the road which took him throughout America and the provinces and territories of Canada. Ron was never without a story of an adventure and great directions when needed.  Ron always enjoyed his morning coffee and newspaper, visiting friends, gardening, or finding a project to work on.  He was a loving, happy father with a great sense of humor.  He never failed to wave to the mice in the fields as he drove by or to say hello to the rabbits in the hills, for the amusement of his children.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Lyn; daughter, Annabelle (Tacloban City): his son, Charlie Wincek, El Paso, TX; daughters: Lori Lynn Wincek Austin, TX, Dawn Basinger Flores, Allen, TX, Claudine Hardy, Miami, FL, and Rhonda Gonzalez, Garland, TX: step-son, Jack Wilbur, Bridgeport, TX; and 13 grandchildren.

There will be no services, although the family will be gathering in Dallas, Texas, on the afternoon of January 15, 2011. A Memorial site has been setup for Ron -
