Trindal, Joyce (Marriage - 24 April 1954)

Miss Joyce Trindal was claimed by Roderick MacSwain as his bride Saturday, April 24.  The 3 p.m. double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Willard M. Mecklenburg at the Loyal Methodist Church.  Ferns, palms, candelabra, and baskets of mixed flowers, carrying out the color motif of the bridal party gowns, banked the chancel of the church for the nuptial service.  Parents of the young people are Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Trindal, Loyal, and Mr. and Mrs. Sumner MacSwain, Mosinee.

The bride was attired in a waltz length, strapless gown of nylon tulle, etched with Chantilly lace, worn with a cover-up jacket, and styled with a bouffant skirt. She wore a half hat of seed pearls, and sequins to which her fingertip veil of sheer imported illusion net with hand-rolled edge was caught.  Her bouquet was a white orchid and stephanotis. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Matron of honor at her twin sister’s wedding was Mrs. Kenneth Rice of Marshfield.  Miss Marjorie Emerson, Green Bay, a teacher friend of the bride, was bridesmaid. The gowns of the bridal attendants were of an identical style to that of the bride’s gown.  Mrs. Rice wore green, and Miss Emerson wore orchid.  They wore half hats of tulle with sequin brims and carried bouquets of yellow and pink roses with ribbons matching the color of their dresses.

Donald MacSwain, Gillette, brother of the groom, served as best man and Mac Remling, Ladysmith, cousin of the groom was groomsman. Ushering duties were performed by Dr. Kenneth Rice, Marshfield, brother-in-law of the bride, and Jerry Rockman, Superior.

LaVern Dahlby sang, "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Because" during the wedding service.  He was accompanied by Mrs. Byron Zepplin at the organ.

Supper was served to 125 guests in the church dining-room at 5 p.m.  The dinner room was decorated with streamers of green and orchid and the tables were centered with bouquets in corresponding colors.

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal high School and Whitewater State Teachers College. She has been a Commercial Instructor in the high schools of Greenwood, Mosinee, and Edgar.  She is affiliated with Delta Sigma Epsilon Sorority, a national social sorority, and Pi Omega Pi, national honorary commercial fraternity.

The groom is a graduate of the Mosinee High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin and the Spencerian College at Milwaukee.  He is a salesman for the King Midas Flour Company.  He spent three years in the Medical Department of the Army, serving as a dental technician.  He was stationed on the West Coast.

When Mr. and Mrs. MacSwain return from their honeymoon trip, they will be at home at 1428 London Road, Duluth, Minn.

Guests attended the wedding from Greenwood, La Crosse, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Madison, Green Bay, Mosinee, Rothschild, Gillette, Chippewa Falls, Ladysmith, Cornell, Marshfield, Racine, Union Grove, Arpin, Medford, Loyal; Minneapolis, Minn.; Evanston and Stockton, Ill.
