Thompson, Gloria  (27 AUG 1951-11 FEB 2002)

 

Gloria J. Thompson, 50, Black River Falls, died on Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls. Funeral services were held at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Services were conducted by Owen Mike and Preston Thompson. Burial was in the Dewey Mike Cemetery, Dells Dam, south of Neillsville.

 

Gloria Jean Thompson was born on Aug. 27, 1951, in Neillsville, to Herschel and Bertha (nee Climer) Thompson. She attended the Dells Dam country school and the Black River grade school and graduated from Melrose High School. After her schooling, she worked as a housekeeper for various families in the Black River Falls area. She was a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation. Her interests included gardening, fishing, and the Green Bay Packers.

 

Survivors include one son, Theodore Thompson, Duluth, Minn., one sister, Janet Dittmer, Berlin, Germany; two brothers, Jeffrey (Debra) Thompson, Stillwater, Minn., and John Thompson lll, Black River Falls; and five nieces and four nephews.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters and two brothers.

 

The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
