Tessner, Gary  (06 MAY 1938-04 OCT 2002)

 

Gary L. Tessner, 64, Stevens Point, died on Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at his home. Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Fond du Lac. The Rev. Ernest Dreher officiated. Entombment was at the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery, Fond du Lac.

 

Gary L. Tessner was born on May 6, 1938, in Fond du Lac, to Alfred and Ruth (nee Lemke) Tessner. He was raised in Fond du Lac and graduated from Goodrich High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-60 as a naval photographer aboard air craft carrier Randolph. He received a bachelor degree from Layton School of Art and a teaching certificate from UW-Oshkosh. He taught at the Loyal Public Schools for 27 years, retiring in 1996. His interests included photography.

 

Survivors include two brothers, Bruce (Margaret) Tessner, DeForest, and John Tessner, St. Paul, Minn.; one niece, Sophie Tessner, DeForest; one nephew, Benjamin Tessner, DeForest; and other relatives and friends.

 

His parents preceded him in death.

 

Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, assisted the family with arrangements.
