Baker, Florence I. (8 OCT 1902)

(Reprint of the marriage notice of Albert and Florence (Baker) Davel)

Married, at 10 o’clock Wednesday, Oct. 8th, 1902, Albert Davel to Miss Florence Irene Baker at the Catholic Church, Rev. Geo. Burkard officiating.

Arthur Sayles, Charles Davel, Art Baker acted as groomsmen, and Misses Maude Graves, Dollie Weaver and Mabel Devlin as bridesmaids.

Both the bride and groom are highly respected young people who have lived in Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) a long time and count their friends by the score.  Everybody knows Albert.  He is the eldest son of John Davel, the genial harness dealer, and is head clerk in the big Colby store.  Congratulations from his many friends and customers will come thick and fast when he gets back behind the counter.

The bride or "Flossie" as she is familiarly called, is the daughter of our Village Marshal Jas. Baker, and is one of our brightest and most highly respected young ladies.

A sumptuous dinner was served at noon Wednesday at the home of the bride, to which about thirty-five relatives and friends of the wedded couple were invited, and it was a happy affair.  The new house on the hill in the Draper addition that has been building this summer, was already for occupancy, being nicely furnished and the happy couple went to housekeeping in their new home, and are at home for their many friends after Nov. 1st.  Here’s hoping they may live a long happy wedded life.
