Berg, Lillian M. (8 Jan 1892 - 31 May 1952)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas Berg, 60, who died at her home Saturday, May 31, 1952, after being in poor health for two years, were held last Tuesday at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.  The Rev. E. E. Aalto officiated and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Berge, the former Lillian Marie Brecke, was born in Stetsonville, Jan. 8, 1892.  She received her education at the high school and normal school in Medford, and then taught school in South Dakota.  Her marriage to Thomas Berg took place in Aberdeen on Aug. 3, 1916.

 

The Bergs came to Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) 20 years ago to make their home.  Mrs. Berg was a member of the Trinity Ladies Aid.

 

The pallbearers, nephews of the deceased, were Clarence, Vernon, Edward and Myron Brecke, Harvey Schafter and Tom Olsen.

 

Mrs. Irvin Noeldner sang "Under His Wing," In the Garden," and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," accompanied by Miss Jean Nysted at the organ.  The members of the Trinity Aid attended in a body.

 

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Romaine (Mavis) Rossow, Loyal, Mrs. Robert (Marliss) ?, Milwaukee, a son, Harold Berg, Milwaukee, a sister, Mrs. Arthur Schafer, Antigo; three brothers, Edwin and William Brecke, Stetsonville, and Hilmer Brecke, Mellen; and six grandchildren.  Two sons and a daughter, a sister and four brothers preceded her in death.
