Lundgren, Almond (1890 - FEB 1952)

 

The Rev. Lee Holmes conducted funeral services for Almond Lundgren, 61, Port Wing, Wis., Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 27, in Myre Funeral Home.  Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

Mr. Lundgren was born in Washburn, Wis., in 1890, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lundgren.  At the age of eight years he came with his parents to Spokeville (Clark Co., Wis.).  He attended the Loyal High School and later learned the barber trade in Loyal.  After a few years he went to Port Wing where he had resided until his death.  He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Ethel) Schmallenberg, Black River Falls; Mrs. Russell (Yvonne) Krause, Cedarburg, Wis.; his aged parents; four grandchildren and one brother, Rrika Springs, Ark., and several nieces and nephews and cousins.  Mrs. Wm. Schmidtke, Granton, sang the "Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Mrs. Byron Zepplin.

 

Pallbearers included Gust Voight, Herbert White, Ray Prior, Archie Smith, Carl Gerdes, and Charley Wehling.

 

Relatives and friends from out of town at the service included Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Schmallenberg and daughter Patricia, Black River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Krause and daughters, Karen and Sherie, and son, John, Cedarburg, Wis.; and Miss Joan Dahlstedt, Cedarburg; F. C. Buchholz and Dick Muskey and family, Port Wing; Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Krause, Milwaukee; Mrs. Harvey Ruse, DePere; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schmallenberg, New London; Mrs. Pearl O’Dell, Sac City, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Knickle, Iola; and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cole, Marshfield.
