Nelson, Nina J. (2 FEB 1952)

Nina Jane Nelson, Spencer, Route 2, was united in marriage to Archie B. Vanderhoof, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Vanderhoof, also of Spencer, Route 2.

The ceremony took place last Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutehran Church in Chili.  The officiating clergyman was Rev. Arthur A. Oswald of Granton.  The organist was Mrs. Harold Montag who accompanied Mrs. Howard Geldernick for several vocal selections.

The bride was attired in a white slipper satin gown, with tight bodice, and a buttoned below the back waistline.  The sleeves came to points at the wrists and a net lace neckline was topped with French lace trimming.  A fingertip veil with crown shaped orange blossom headdress to match completed the ensemble.  She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Maid of honor for the occasion was Miss Carol Nelson, sister of the bride.  She wore a blue taffeta formal with matching flowered headdress.  A wristlet bouquet of mums and carnations was worn.

Acting as bridesmaids were Mrs. Gerald Nelson of Chili, a sister-in-law of the bride, and Mrs. Randall Miller of Billion, a sister of the groom.  Their gowns were of yellow peach taffeta respectively with flowers and headdress similar to the maid of honor.

Best man for the event was Earl Vanderhoof, Spencer, a brother of the groom, while serving as groomsmen were Gerald Nelson, Chili, and Randall Miller, Brillion.

Acting as ushers were Arla Gauger, cousin of the groom.  Table servers included Ethel Bodendorfer, Lois Vanderhoof, Arla Gauger and Iris Voelker.

Relatives and friends attending were from Spencer, Marshfield, Loyal, Chili, Rhinelander, Brillion, Stratford, Colby, Augusta and Madison.

After a honeymoon in southern Wisconsin the couple will be at home at 105 South Main St., Brillion, where the groom is employed.
