Strebe, DuWayne..(25 MARCH 1934-05 DEC 2010)

 

DuWayne L."Dewey" Strebe, 76, Marshfield, died on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at North Central Health Care, Wausau. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 5-8 p.m., at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, and on Friday, Dec. 10, from 10:30 a.m., until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield. Jean Schwantes will be the organist for Michael Gonering as soloist. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Pallbearers will be Greg Geiger, Kim Marine, Norbert Konrardy, Dean Bohman, Quenton Draeger, Brice Draeger and Logan Hermsen.

 

DuWayne Strebe was born on March 25, 1934, in Medford, to Clyde and Bernice (nee Pacourek) Strebe. He was a 1952 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Marshfield and became employed at Marshfield Electric and Water Department, where he worked for 36 years until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking and was very talented  with his scroll saw.

 

Survivors include his wife, Jean; five children, Carrie (Roger) Draeger, Marshfield, Timothy (Susan) Strebe, Marshfield, Thomas Strebe, Spencer, Carmen (Mick) Hermsen, Amherst Junction and Ted (Karla) Strebe, Marshfield; 19  grandchildren, Quenton (Tiffany) Draeger, Stacy (Kelly) Brogan and their children, Andy, Shylah and Dylan, Brice Draeger, Cara (Adam) Baxter and their daughter, Hallie, Jenna Strebe, Nicole Strebe, Justin Strebe, Jerad Strebe, Josh Strebe, Jordan Strebe, Nathan Hermsen, Logan  Hermsen, Conner Hermsen, Garret Hermsen, John (America) Strebe and their son, Dominic, Megan Strebe, Jake Strebe, Jesse Strebe, and Melissa Strebe; two sisters, Marlene (Lyle) Cathcart, Marshfield, and Virginia "Ginger" Dupee, Overton, Nev.; and six brothers, Jerry (Joanne) Strebe, Plymouth, Dale (Janice) Strebe, Stratford, Russell Strebe, Janesville, Ronald (Jeanne) Strebe, Shawno, James Strebe, Clawson, Mich., and Galen (Shannon) Strebe, Madison.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Brian and Todd, in infancy; and a brother, Allen.
