Foelske, Nelda Jane (Marriage - 17 September 1960)

At a flower decked altar in the Loyal Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, Miss Nelda Jane Foelske, daughter of Mrs. Iva Foelske of Loyal, and Arthur H. Franz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Franz of Greenwood, exchanged marriage vows. The Rev. Paul Doering officiated.

Miss Karen Haslow sang, "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord’s Prayer", accompanied by Charles Ivey at the organ.

Miss Foelske was escorted by her uncle, Delbert Hutchins, down the church aisle for the double ring ceremony.  Her wedding gown was of sweeping nylon organza with a chapel train.  It was richly etched with Chantilly lace appliqué on both bodice and skirt.  Her imported silk illusion veil was held in place by a small lace crown, edged with pearls.  She carried a cascade of Amazon lilies, white stephanotis, Ivy foliage and pink garnette roses.

Identically-styled gowns, featuring tight fitted bodices, scoop necklines, cap sleeves, and a skirt of tiered ruffles of taffeta and white lace, were worn by the bride’s attendants.  Her sister, Mrs. Marvin Teuteberg of Waukesha, in a gown of turquoise, served as matron-of-honor; and Miss Geraldine Gray, in a gown of shrimp color, was bridesmaid.  Their flowers were a cascade of white pompoms with turquoise ribbon for Mrs. Teuteberg’s bouquet and shrimp for Miss Gray’s.

Bestman was Darrel Horn, and groomsman was Richard Jensen.  Jerome Hutchins and Thomas Elmers ushered.

A reception and dinner were given in the church dining hall for 125 guests and a dance was held at the Silver Dome, west of Neillsville.

The bride is a graduate of Loyal High School and attended Eau Claire State College. The groom is a graduate of the Greenwood High School.

When the new Mr. and Mrs. Franz return from a wedding trip to western states, they will live in rural Greenwood.

Guests were present from Waukesha, Union Grove, Unity, Spencer, Neillsville Eau Claire, Greenwood, Loyal and Chicago, Ill.
