Leech, Alice (26 OCT 1957)

Miss Alice Leech, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ceci Leech, Gilman, Wis., exchanged vows with Chester Karpinski, son of Mrs. Mary Karpinski, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), on Saturday, Oct. 26, 1957.

Father Francis Piekarski was celebrant at the 10 a.m. nuptial Mass and also performed the double ring ceremony.  Standards of fall flowers decorated the altar and the church choir sang during the service.

The bride was attended by Miss Angeline Fasnacht, Gilman, as maid of honor, and Miss Esther Leech, Gilman, as bridesmaid.  Jean and Joan Lato, twin sisters, served  as the little flower girls.

Marion Karpinski of Thorp attended the groom as best man.  Tony Wilczek, Thorp was usher.  Danny Hull of Thorp carried the rings.

The bride’s gown of imported Chantilly lace featured ripple pleated nylon tulle underscored with a gleam of Burmil satin.  Her fingertip length veil of nylon net was fastened to a pearl tiara.  American Beauty roses composed her bouquet.

The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore identical gowns of light green net over taffeta with picture hats of net.  White carnations, yellow streamers composed their heart shaped bouquets.  The little flower girls wore white net frocks over polished cotton caught up with flowers.

Following the ceremony a dinner was served to 100 guests at Koolmo’s in Gilman, where the reception was held in the afternoon.  A wedding dance was given in the evening.

The bride graduated from the Gilman High School in 1957, and the groom from the Thorp High School in 1954.

After a wedding trip the young couple will be at home on Route 1, Thorp.
