Dewhurst Township Area (25 August 1960)

 

The three schools of the united Levis-Dewhurst district will start the fall term Monday.

 

Rudolph Novak, who is employed in Wisconsin Rapids by the Green Bay and Western Railroad, spent last weekend with his family at their home by Bruce Mound.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schmid and family of Bensenville, Ill., are visiting her brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marek, Jr., in Dewhurst.

 

Barbara Iverson, plans to enter the Luther School of Nursing at Eau Claire, September 4.

 

Russel Vandeberg reported on the progress of the development of Bruce Mound Ski Slide at the Rotary meeting Monday evening.  He stated that the committee had met with a member of the state park commission and with a professional ski authority at Bruce Mound last week. The club plans to assist with the construction of a shelter at the ski slide and in the location of ski tows.  A $2,000 fund was awarded several months ago by the Marguerite Listeman Foundation for developing and improving the ski area.
