Hagen, Anton #2 (28 FEB 1887 - 27 AUG 1957)

 

Anton Hagen passed away suddenly at his home, 331 Washington St., Stanley, Wis., Tuesday morning, Aug. 27th, 1957.  He had reached the age of 70 years, 5 mos. and 27 days.

 

Mr. Hagen was born Feb. 28, 1887 in the town of Worden, Clark County.  He was the son of Andrew and Anna Hagen.  On Oct. 27th, 1920 he was united in marriage to Bertha Farmer at the Presbyterian Church at Stanley.  They farmed in the Stanley country for a few years, then they moved to Eau Claire where he was employed by the Drummond Packing Co. for 20 years.  When his health forced him to retire, he then spent 3 years in Arizona.  They moved to Gilman where they resided until a few months ago when they moved to Stanley.

 

Surviving are his wife, Bertha; one son, LaVern of Cleveland, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Avis) Hempelman, Thorp, Mrs. Edward (Lillian) Hempelman, Eau Claire, Mrs. Albert (Adella) Meissner, Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Samuel and Elmer of Withee; one sister, Mable Henderson, Oregon; three half-brothers, Chester Moen, Chippewa Falls, Otto Moen, Minnesota, Ole Moen, California; three half-sisters, Mrs. Ragna Smasal, Mrs. Tena Wolters, Withee, Emma Larson, Stanley; also 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by a son, Anton Jr., 1929, his parents, 6 brothers and sisters.  He was laid to rest in the East Thorp Cemetery.
