Kuester, Fred (16 August 1873 - August 1960)

 

Freed Kuester, 86, died at his home in Loyal at 1:50 o’clock of a stroke; (no date given).

 

He was born in Sheboygan County August 16, 1873, and lived there as a youth.  He was married to Alvina Brandt in Greenwood November 11, 1903.  He purchased a farm near Greenwood and they lived there until 1944, when they retired and moved into Loyal.

 

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  While a member of West Side Church, Greenwood, he served on its building committee.

 

He is survived by his wife; five sons: Arthur and Elmer of Thorp, Irwin of Chicago, Ill., Eddie of Greenville, O., and George of Greenwood; four daughters: Mrs. Harold (Lillie) Kuester of Milwaukee, Mrs. Norma Ebert of Loyal, Mrs. Tony (Elvera) Briski of Berwyn, Ill. and Mrs. Phillip (Elmira) Mattes of Thorp; a brother, William Kuester of Milwaukee; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held from Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, with the Rev. Virgil Ganz officiating.  Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Erwin Dux and Mrs. Verland Dux sang, "Nearer My God to Thee" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye", with Carol Noeldner as organist.

 

Pallbearers were: Jake Henseler, Sr., Julius Ehlert, William Seeman, Roland Seeman, George Dahl and G. Kehrberg.

 

Those from out of town who attended the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Kuester, Greenville, O.; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Briski and daughter, Berwyn , Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Kuester, Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kuester and daughter, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. George Kuester and family, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Art Kuester, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Mattes and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kuester and family, Thorp; Mrs. Robert Wesener, Arno Grunewald, and William Grunewald, Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kuester, Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. John Gukesh and William Kuester, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Molle, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Greve, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rossman, Withee; Harold and Clarence Mattes, Thorp; and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brandt, Franksville.
