Verena Juris and Howard Jennings will be married at the Veefkind Community Church Saturday afternoon at 1:30. A reception will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the York Town Hall.

 

Mrs. Freeman Dankemyer was hostess to the Fremont Homemaker’s club Thursday afternoon.  Mrs. Lyle Doehr, vice president, presided. Roll call was "A Historical Spot I would like to Visit".  The club will begin work on another quilt when club reconvenes in September.  Mrs. Oscar Loos told of her hobby, that of using colored transfer patterns on towels, pillowcases, etc.  Mrs. Lyle Doehr will entertain the club in September.  Mrs. Tina Cole received the door prize.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Doehr and Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Menger fished the first of the week near Hayward.

 

Richard Hansen was a dinner guest Thursday evening in the Lyle Doehr home.  He has been spending his furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hansen and will leave soon for two years service in Europe.  Evening guests in the Doehr home were Mr. and Mrs. Werner Doehr and their house guest, Helmuth Doehr.

 

Helmuth Doehr of Iron Mountain, Michigan has been visiting the past week in the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Werner Doehr.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Prust and family attended a surprise birthday party Friday evening for Daniel Mueller, held in the home of Mrs. Gladys Drescher.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wolf of Marshfield, former residents of the area celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a party at Markham’s Hall Saturday evening.  Those attending from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rollins, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Arbelovsky, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. John Prust and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Prust.

 

Fremont Grange met Friday evening in the hall.  Norman Peterson conducted the meeting. The Eppers and Cain families served on the lunch committee.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Martin Dankemyer are visiting in the Elmer Johnson home in Milwaukee.
