Tolaney, Joanne Marie (Marriage - 4 June 1960)

Joanne Marie Tolaney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tolaney, was given in marriage by her father to LeRoy L. Kesler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Kesler on June 4 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Church, Willard, with the Rev. Aloysius Madic in charge.  About 250 guests attended the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a white floor length gown of tulle and rose-print lace over a satin fitted bodice of lace and tulle.  The gown had a Sabrina neckline, trimmed with pearls and sequins. The long fitted sleeves came to a point on the hand. The very bouffant skirt of nylon tulle with lace appliqués had wide lace paneling, extending from the side front, and into a chapel train.  Her veil was ballerina length of bridal illusion, which was attached to a Swedish crown trimmed with pearls and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of carnations and Lilies of the valley.

The maid of honor was Angeline Tolaney, the bride’s sister, and the bridesmaids were Carol Jeras, a cousin from Lyons, Illinois, and Mary Ann Smrecek, a friend.

The best man was Richard Kesler, a brother of the groom.  Ushers were Ken Gierl of Colby, a cousin, and Joe Tolaney, the bride’s brother.

A wedding reception was held at the West Side Hall with about 250 guests attending.

The couple took a short honeymoon to South Western Wisconsin, and returned to Greenwood where they will make their home.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jeras and Carol, George Laken, Margaret Bulat and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Klecka of Lyons, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Donahue of Westmont, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Dergance of Hillside, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kristapovich of Rockford, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Tolaney of Stevens Point; Mrs. Rose Kesler, Mrs. Wm. Schacht and family of Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kesler and daughter, Judy, Roger Kesler of Hilbert; Mr. and Mrs. John Roth, Mrs. Rozella Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Untiedt of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Sven Sandllom, Port Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Heinrich, Rothschild; and Mrs. Nick Gierl of Colby.
