The home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lebiecki, formerly of Lublin, Wis., living now in Chicago, was the scene of the wedding Saturday, Apr. 27, 1957 at 10:30 a.m., when their daughter, Helen Amelia, became the bride of John D. Ludwig, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ludwig of Sturgis, Mich.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Paul Lebiecki, in a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. Joseph Jaworski.
For her marriage Miss Lebiecki chose a floor length gown of nylon lace over net with church length train. The lace bodice featured a scalloped scooped neckline trimmed with pearls and sequins and had long sleeves. The fingertip veil was caught to a pearl encrusted crown headpiece. Her pearl necklace was a gift of the bridegroom and she carried a crescent style bouquet of white orchids with purple lips and stephanotis with streamers.
Her attendants were Mrs. Ronald Etterley, former, Miss Nancy Rohland of Withee, Wis., her maid of honor, Miss Doris Lebiecki, sister of the bride, and Miss Sonja Moravectz, cousin of the bride, all wore floor length white lace over net gowns, with lace and net hats to match. Their colonial style bouquets consisted of white daisies with center sweetheart roses and white maline around with white streamers. Their earrings they wore were gifts of the bride.
The bride’s four year old sister, Nancy Lee, was he miniature bride, she carried a basket of white daisies and pink sweetheart roses, was dressed exactly like her bride sister. Her miniature groom was her third cousin, Carmen Garlo of Chicago.
The brother-in-law of the groom was best man, and groomsmen were Michael Moravectz Jr., cousin of the bride, and William Herbert.
Mrs. Paul Lebiecki, mother of the bride, was attired in white with pink accessories and wore a white orchid corsage.
Following the reception at 6:00 p.m., dinner was served to about 125 guests. A dance was held in the evening at the Good Shepherd Church Hall.
The bride attended Withee High (Clark Co., Wis.) for three years and graduated from Tuley High in Chicago in 1956. For the past year she has been employed as an IBM operator at Rawhide Co.’s office.
The bridegrooms has been serving in the U.S. Navy for the past four years and has re-enlisted for another six years. At present he is somewhere on the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard ship headed for Florida.
Out of town guests who attended the wedding were both grandmothers of the bride, Mrs. Leon Dux, Thorp, Wis., and Mrs. Mary Lebiecki of Lublin, Wis., Mrs. Felix Nowak and daughters, Geraldine and Christine of Lublin, Wis. Mrs. Bruno Parnewicz of Withee, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Miller Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth and their three daughters, Dianna, Kay and all of Sturgis, Mich.
