Jake, Jacelyn (Miller Foundation Scholarship - 1960)

Jacelyn Jake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Jake, Jr., of Neillsville, became the first girl to win the $2,000 Miller Foundation scholarship in the three years it has been offered here.  The prior two winners were boys.

Announcement that Miss Jake had been selected for the award was made Wednesday in behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Steve J. Miller of Marshfield, founders of the scholarships.

One of the outstanding students of the senior class of Neillsville High School, Miss Jake also has been active outside the classroom in such extracurricular activities as music.

The scholarship provides $500 per year for four years of college work, or a total of $2,000.  it is divided into $250 for each successful semester of work.
