Marty, William "Bill" C. (13 July 1937 - 7 November 2010) With Flag

 

William "Bill" C. Marty, 73, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, Woodstock, IL.

 

Bill was born July 13, 1937, in Neillsville, the son of Casper and Emma (Altemus) Marty.  He graduated from Neillsville High School with the class of 1955.  Bill then served in the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1958.  He was united in marriage to Bette Mae Remer Nov. 11, 1961, in Elkhorn.  Bette died March 1, 1977.  Bill was a self-employed carpenter.  He loved fishing, gardening and was a collector of everything. 

 

He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Dennis) Jeters of Delavan; two grandchildren, Christopher Jeters of Fort Lewis, Seattle, WA, and Emily Jeters of Delavan; five step-granddaughters, Darla Jeters of Racine, Dayna Jeters of Hilo, HI, Kyleane (Aaron ) Mudgett of Delavan, Stephanie Jeters of Sharon, and Elizabeth Jeters of Paducah, KY; two brothers, Robert (Marilyn) Marty and Jess (Cathy) Marty, all of Neillsville; two sisters, Helen Schoen of Neillsville and Beth Sternitsky of Missouri.

 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bette; one step-grandson, Brandon; one sister, Esther; and two brothers, Fred and Walter.

 

A Memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, with Rev. Scott McLeod officiating.  Visitation was from 4 p.m. until time of services.
