Schoenherr, Eric (30 December 1883 - 23 January 1960)

 

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe for Eric G. Schoenherr, 76, of Neillsville, who died Saturday in the Marshfield Hospital following a long illness. The Rev. Norman Lindloff, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville, officiated, and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mr. Schoenherr was born December 30, 1883, in Arnswalde, Germany, where he received his education.  He came alone to the United States at the age of 15 to live with his grandmother in Globe.  He farmed in Globe.

 

On April 20, 1910, he was married to the former Pauline Steinberg, who survives. They continued to farm in the Globe area and nine years ago retired due to failing health.  He was very active in civic and government affairs and held several local and state offices.

 

Surviving are his wife and the following eight children: Mrs. Harry (Rose) Swanson, La Crosse; Miss Ruth Schoenherr, Madison; Mrs. Otto (Ottelia) Kunkel, La Crosse; Theodore F. Schoenherr, Neillsville, Frederick Schoenherr, Stratford; Mrs. Lewis (Lydia) Blaney, Salem; Mrs. Howard (Berdina) Padrutt, Black Earth; and Mrs. Richard (Pauline) Christman, Kansas City, Mo.; also surviving are: a sister, Mrs. Rosalie Haderer of Neillsville; and 27 grandchildren.

 

Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral home.

 

Pallbearers were: Herman Schoenherr, Jr., Herbert Schoenherr, Arnold Henchen, William Lueck, Theodore Mitte, and Harold Mitte.

 

"Abide with Me" and "The Lord is My Shepherd" were sung by Robert Mitte, accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Wegner.

 

Out of town people here for the services were: Mrs. Eric Schoenherr, Owen; Mrs. Calvin Mills, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Swanson, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kunkel, La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Christman and family, Kansas City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Padrutt, Black Earth (lines missing).
