Lindgren, Karen Kay (Marriage - 3 October 1959)

Miss Karen Kay Lindgren, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vaner Lindgren of Withee, and Donald Lampi, son of Mrs. Fred Thess of Owen and the late Matt Lampi, exchanged nuptial vows Saturday in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood.  The Rev. I. J. Tanner performed the double ring ceremony before an altar graced with baskets of yellow and white ‘mums and altar bouquets of mixed fall flowers.

The bride approached the altar in a chapel length gown of Alencon lace and nylon tulle over bridal satin. Front and back panels of lace, with gathered tulle sides, detailed the very bouffant skirt over a Colonial hoop. The fitted bodice, with traditional long tapered sleeves, was fashioned with an illusion yoke and a set-in Queen Ann Collar of lace.  A tapered tiara, trimmed with sequins and pearls, held her imported veil of English silk illusion.  She carried a crescent bouquet of yellow roses and white stephanotis centered with a white orchid.

Miss Marlene Lampi, sister of the groom, was her maid-of-honor.  Miss Cala Lindgren, her sister, and Miss Nancy Rossow of Des Moines, Ia., were her bridesmaids.  The maid-of-honor wore a nymph green dress of lace and nylon.  The bridesmaids wore dresses of yellow in the same design as that of the maid-of-honor.

The groom’s attendants wore white tuxedos. They were Ronald Lindgren, brother of the bride, as bestman, and Glenn Lampi, brother of the groom, and Roger Gruhe, Chicago, groomsmen.  Ushers were Jerry Lindgren and Jerry Johnson, Chicago.

David Lampi, ringbearer, carried the rings on a white satin pillow, and the miniature bride was Linda Thomas.

Following a reception in the church parlors the couple left on a wedding trip to northern Michigan and Wisconsin.

The bride is a graduate of Owen High School and has been employed in Minneapolis. The groom, also a  graduate of the Owen School, is engaged in construction work.
