Schultz, Shirley Ruth (Marriage - 22 August 1959)

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday in the United Church of Christ by Shirley Ruth Schultz and Ronald Lee Ziegler, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Schultz, Rt. 1, Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ziegler, Rt. 1, Willard. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey performed the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with white carnations and baskets of pink and white gladioli.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a waltz-length gown of white tulle over ruffled net. The fitted bodice, with wrist-length sleeves, was accented by a scalloped neckline edged with baby pearls.  Her finger-tip veil of white net cascaded from a princess-style crown dotted with sequins and pearls.

She carried a bridal bouquet of tiny lavender orchids surrounded by white roses.

Mrs. Marvelin Van Tatenhove of Milwaukee attended her sister as matron-of-honor.  Miss Susan Wall, a cousin, and Miss Sandra Ziegler, sister of the groom, were her bridesmaids.

George Van Tatenhove was best man, and the groomsman was Wendell Ziegler, a brother.  Ushers were Oliver Anason and Larry Klueckman of Strum.

Completing the bridal party were Master Kim Ziegler, brother of the groom, ringbearer and Miss Robin Van Tatenhove, niece of the bride, as flower girl.

Ellis Wall sang "O Promise Me", accompanied by organist Deon Larsen.

One hundred fifty guests attended a reception in the American Legion Hall, which was decorated in blue and white.  A white wedding bell and bouquets of pink rose buds graced the bride’s table.

Mr. and Mrs. Ziegler are graduates of the Neillsville High School.  On their return from a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin and Illinois, they reside at 702 Division St.

Among those from away here for the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. William Kaitschuck, Prospect Heights, Ill.; Mrs. Erna Witte, North Lake, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Martin, Corvallis, Ore.  Other guests came from Wausau, Strum, and Marshfield.
