Meissner, Beverly Ann (Marriage - 1 August 1959)

Immanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church in Chili was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Beverly Ann Meissner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harland Meissner of Chili, and Roland Allen Helm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Helm of Granton. The Rev. E. S. Antrim performed the double ring ceremony before an altar adorned with palms, candelabra and bouquets of white gladioli and blue carnations.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor-length gown of white scalloped nylon organza with intermittent lengths of lace that flowed into a sweep train. The fitted bodice was fashioned with an empire bust line, with a scalloped Sabrina neckline and short sleeves.  She wore a Queen’s crown of pearlized orange blossoms, from which fell a fingertip veil of sheer illusion, and she carried a cascade bouquet centered by a white orchid, surrounded by pink sweetheart roses and ivy.

Miss Betty Jane Meissner served as her maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Norman Helm, Freeport, Ill., Mrs. Eldon Helm, Perl City, Ill., Miss Beverly Spry, Chili, and Miss Emily Beil of Mesa, Ariz.

The groom was attended by his brother, Walter Helm, as best man. Groomsmen were Norman Helm, and Eldon Helm, Ronald Gluch, Jr., Granton, and Larry Meissner of Chili.  Ushers were Edward Grabe, Jr., and Roger Helm.

The bride’s sister, Bonnie Jean Meissner, was flower girl, and was accompanied down the aisle by Johnny Meissner of Milwaukee as ring bearer.

Mrs. E. S. Antrim sang, "Whither Thou Goest" and the "Wedding Prayer".

A reception was held at the new armory in Marshfield, which was decorated with blue and whie streamers, bells and flowers.

The bride, a graduate of the Marshfield High School, has been employed as a secretary there; and the groom is a graduate of the Granton High School and Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Ill.  On their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Michigan they will reside in Belleville, Ill., where the groom will teach.
