Bartosiewicz, Adeline (30 JUN 1956)

In a double ring ceremony in St. Casimer’s Catholic Church, St. Paul, Minn., on June 30, 1956, Adeline Bartosiewicz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bartosiewicz, 968 E. Lawson, became the bride of Mr. Peter K. Sorlie, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Sorlie Sr., 36 E. Maryland.  The Rev. John Maslowski read the marriage service.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white Chantilly lace and tulle over satin, and a fingertip veil of French illusion which fell from a cap made of embroidered lace and tiny pearls.  The bride carried a bouquet of pink roses and white stephanotis which was made up in cascade style.  She also carried a crystal rosary and lace hanky given to her by her godmother, Mrs. Basil Harycki.

Miss Janet Bartosiewicz of Chicago, Ill., was her cousin’s maid of honor.  The bridesmaids were Mrs. James Bies and Mrs. Richard Wallin.  Miss Carol Ann Maier was her aunt’s junior bridesmaid and Miss Diane Lew served as her aunt’s flower girl.  The bridesmaids wore aqua dresses of crystalette and carried painted daisies in basket style.  The junior bridesmaid wore a pale pink dress of crystalette.  While the flower girl wore a dress of white net trimmed in pink and blue ribbons over a taffeta skirt, which was sewn by the bride.  The junior bridesmaid carried a bouquet identical to the bridesmaid, while the flower girl carried a wicker basket with painted daisies and ivy.

As his best man the groom chose Mr. Richard Nowicki.  Mr. James Bies, Mr. Richard Wallin and Mr. Allen Sorlie, brother of the groom, served as the groomsmen.  Mr. Eugene Cukla was ring bearer.  He is a nephew of the bride.

The mothers of the bride and groom wore identical dresses of dusty rose lace and both wore corsages of white and yellow roses.  The fathers both wore blue suits.

A wedding breakfast was served for the immediate family at the North End Improvement Club.  A dinner was served at 5:00 p.m. for about 130 relatives and friends and a reception was held from 8:00 till 12:00 for about 300 guests.  Music was furnished by Clarence Bogdanowicz and his orchestra.

Mr. and Mrs. Sorlie left on their honeymoon to Ely, Minn. And on their way back went on a site seeing trip of the north shore and northern Minnesota and also spent some time in Thorp.

They are now at home in St. Paul where the groom is employed by Western Electric Installation and the bride at American Can Co.

Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nowatka, south Bend, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Basil Harycki, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Maier and family, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Cukla and family, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lew and family, all of Thorp, and Miss Janet Bartosiewicz of Chicago, Ill.
