Nichols, William S. #4 (25 APR 1867 - 7 SEP 1951)

 

William S. Nichols, 84, passed away at Marshfield Hospital, Sept. 7, 1951, after an illness of a few months.  He was born to Milo and Tamma (Fuller) Nichols on April 25, 1867, in Monroe Co.  When a few months old, his parents moved to the town of Weston, where he received his education.

 

The family moved to Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) where he worked in the lumber camps.

 

In the fall of 1891, he was married to Kate Castner.  They lived on a farm in the town of Loyal until his wife’s death.  After her death he spent many years in the lumber camps of the state of Washington.  About 22 years ago, he came to Neillsville, making his home with his cousin.

 

He is survived by two daughters, Hazel and Gayle, two grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Fannie Smith.  He was preceded in death by his wife and three sons, Guy, Glenn and George, three brothers and one sister.
