Farnsworth, Minnie (12 October 1878 - 5 May 1959)

 

Mrs. Minnie Farnsworth, 80, died at the Bethel Convalescent Home Tuesday, May 5.  She had been there since November, 1958.

 

Mrs. Farnsworth, the former Minnie Wobig, was born at Fox Lake, October 12, 1878. She was married to William Farnsworth there, April 29, 1902.  They moved to Veefkind area in 1919.  Mr. Farnsworth died December 25, 1946.  In 1957 Mrs. Farnsworth went to live with her son, Erwin at Veefkind.

 

She was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church, and a charter member of the Fremont Grange.

 

She is survived by a son, Erwin of Veefkind (rural Spencer), and a daughter, Mrs. August (Myrtle) Mueller of Waverly, Ia.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Maas of Randolph and Mrs. Ida Fisher of Fox Lake also survive, as do three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held from the Loyal Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Alfred Attwood officiating.  Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: Harland Meissner, Arnold Eppers, Manford Cain, Lowell Schultz, Charles Mueller and Ross Stevens.

 

Mrs. Donald Ellingson of Marshfield sang, "Oh Love That Would Not Let Me Go" and "The Lord’s Prayer."  Mrs. Byron Zepplin was the organist.

 

Out of town people attending were: Mrs. Myrtle Mueller and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Schroeder of Waverly, Ia.; Mrs. Mary Maas and Mr. and Mrs. Herb Otto of Randolph; Mrs. Alden Weber of Markesan; Mrs. Dan Jones of Cambria; Mrs. Ray Rohrschneider (missing words).
