Fristad, Selma (Marriage - 29 May 1960)
Miss Selma Fristad, Chicago, and Endre Ivan, East Chicago, Ind., exchanged marriage vows in a 4 o’clock ceremony Sunday, May 29 at the First Presbyterian church of Abbotsford before the Rev. F. L. Faivre.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fristad of Colby, rt. 1, and Mr. and Mrs. Janos Ivan, of Hungary.
Matron of honor for her sister’s wedding was Mrs. Norma Weisz. Miss Sandra Fristad of Colby was her sister’s bridesmaid.
Frank Wiesz of Chicago, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man and groomsman was Jack Shackleton of Appleton.
The bride wore a gown of pure silk with an overskirt of organza, and carried a bouquet of red roses, white carnations and stephanotis. Her attendants wore identical dresses of blue silk organza over blue taffeta.
Miss Joan Goeldner sang "The Lord’s Prayer" during the ceremony, which was followed by a dinner at the church dining hall and a reception at the home of the bride’s parents.
The young couple will live in East Chicago, Ind., where the groom, who is a graduate of the University of Budapest, Hungary, is employed as a draftsman.
The bride is a graduate of the Colby high school and was employed in Chicago as a book keeper.
Guests who attended the wedding came from Abbotsford, Colby, Chicago, East Chicago, Ind., Humbird, Wausau, Augusta, Beloit, Glen Flora and Duluth.
