Damm, Thelma Janet (Marriage - 18 July 1959)
Mr. and Mrs. Galen Olson are making their home at Wausau following a honeymoon trip to the Black Hills. Their marriage took place Saturday, July 18, in Zion Lutheran church at Stetsonville.
The bride, the former Thelma Janet Damm, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Damm of Stetsonville and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Olson, Abbotsford.
For the ceremony, which was performed at 2:00 o’clock by the Rev. A. J. Engel, the bride chose a gown of Chantilly lace styled with a floor length skirt of tiered tulle over taffeta, and lace inserts. Long sleeves and a Sabrina neckline designed the lace bodice of her dress. The nylon bandeau headpiece was trimmed with seed pearls and held her finger tip veil. A cascade bouquet of carnations and red roses formed her bouquet.
Miss Judy Olson and Miss Marlo Olson, sisters of the groom, Abbotsford, were her maid of honor and bridesmaid. They donned identical dresses of Nile green embroidered nylon net with scalloped ballerina length skirts of taffeta. Taffeta cummerbunds with bowed backs and nylon crowns to match their dresses completed their attire. White and green carnations were combined in their cascade bouquets.
Bob Damm, Stetsonville, was the best man, and George Damm, Stetsonville, was groomsman. Both are brothers of the bride. Darrell Damm and Ronald Olson ushered the guests. Yellow and white chrysanthemums and gladioli provided the floral decorations for the church and Robert Radtke was the organist.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, following the ceremony and supper was served in the church basement later in the afternoon.
The groom is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school and the Wausau Vocational school. He is employed as bookkeeper for the Home Insulation Company, Wausau. His bride is a graduate of the Medford high school and Taylor County Teachers’ College and taught at the Holway school.
