Kieser, Marilyn (Marriage - 16 May 1959)

 

Christ Lutheran church was the scene of the marriage of Miss Marilyn Kieser and Weldon S. Brown, Jr., performed by the Rev. F. H. Sprengler Saturday evening at 7:00 o’clock.

 

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb G. Kieser and Mr. and Mrs. Weldon S. Brown, all of Abbotsford.

 

Vows were exchanged in a double ring ceremony before the altar decorated with tall candelabra, vases of pink and white gladioli and four large palms.

 

Herbert Juneau was organist and accompanist as he sang "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord’s Prayer."

 

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace over satin. The fitted bodice had a v neckline with brief sleeves and full gathered skirt with tiers of ruffles. Her finger tip veil was secured to a tiara of rhinestones. She carried a white prayer book on which was mounted a white orchid surrounded by stephanotis, peach hearts and velvet leaves.

 

Attending her was her sister, Miss Marjorie Kieser. She wore a floor length dress of pink nylon lace and net over taffeta. The strapless bodice featured a taffeta lined lace jacket and a full ruffled skirt. She wore a crown of horse hair braid with nose veil of matching color. Pink and white carnations with blue streamers were arranged in her cascade bouquet.

 

Richard Brown served as best man for his brother. Dennis Kieser and Kurt Bartz, brother and brother-in-law of the bride, were ushers.

 

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Kieser chose a beige lace over taffeta dress. Mrs. Brown wore a white dotted navy blue nylon dress. Both mothers had corsages of pink sweet heart roses and white feathered carnations.

 

Following the ceremony, a reception for 75 guests was held in the church dining rooms.

 

Guests from away at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Frank Haderlein, Milan; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Habeck, Miss Dorothy Habeck, Ernst Habeck, all of Athens; Mr. and Mrs. August Schopper and daughter, Phyllis, Rib Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kieser, Eau Claire; and Miss Doris Kieser, Melrose.
