Ockerlander, Jack N. (6 June 1919 - 19 Apr. 1959)

 

Jack N. Ockerlander, Santa Monica, California, passed away Sunday, April 19, at the age of 39. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John N. Ockerlander, born June 6, 1919, at Milwaukee.

 

A veteran of World War II, he was a major in the air force in the Asiatic Pacific theatre as a navigator-bombadier, and up to the time of his death was active in the air reserve. His decorations and citations included the Distinguished Flying Cross, five oak leaf clusters, air medal and service medal.

 

He received a B. S. degree from Eau Claire State Teachers College, and an M. S. degree in economics from the University of Virginia.

 

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 22, at Wilshire Chapel, Uster McKinley Mortuary. Dr. Clair Gahagen officiated and internment followed in Valhalla Memorial Park, Burbank, California.

 

The three sisters attended the funeral.

 

He is survived by one daughter, Joann, Arcadia, California, and three sisters, Mrs. Francis (Ruth) Melvin, Abbotsford; Mrs. James (Carol) Reed, Essex Junction, Vermont; and Mrs. Robert (Doris) See, Wausau.
