Johnson, Victor #2 (10 MAY 1886 - 15 OCT 1950)

 

Funeral services for Victor Johnson, 64, of route one, who died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 1950, were held at 2 o’clock last Wednesday afternoon at the Myre Funeral Home.  Mr. Johnson had been ill for some time preceding his death.  The Rev. Lee Holmes officiated at the services and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Floyd Gardner, Edd Dobbe, Alex Mrotek, Donald Schwan, Oscar Neeb and Glen Faude.

 

Mrs. Ray Prior and Mrs. Calvin Prior sang "Rock of Ages" and "Be Still My Soul," accompanied by Miss Donna Gotter at the organ.

 

Mr. Johnson was born on May 10, 1886 in Finland.  Coming to the United States with his mother at the age of 16, Mr. Johnson had been a resident of the Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) vicinity ever since.  He was married to Hilda Anderson in 1915 and had lived on a farm in the town of Beaver since that time.  His wife preceded him in death in 1932.

 

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Henry Smith of Loyal, Mrs. Nick Bauer of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Theodore Hill of Dixon, Ill.  Three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

 

Those from out of town who attended the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hill of Dixon, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Treankler of Iorn Mountain, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Roy Damitz and Mrs. David Schurhardt of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mellenthin of Sterling, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Braun of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Kind and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith of Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester O’Brien of Spencer.
