Rohde, Velma (24 JUN 1950)

At an 8 o’clock nuptial candlelight service on Saturday evening, June 24, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. J. C. Langholz officiating, Miss Velma Rohde of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) became the bride of Lendol J. Nibbe of Humbird (Clark Co.), son of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Nibbe of Red Wing, Minn.

The bride’s attire was a floor length gown of white lace, featuring cap sleeves, sweetheart neckline and a three-tier peplum.  Her fingertip veil, edged with lace, fell from a crown of pearl orange blossoms, and her bouquet included white carnations and stephanotis with an orchid in the center.

Mrs. Gilbert Rohde, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mrs. Vern Hart of Ellsworth, sister of the groom, were her attendants.  Each was gowned in a dress of aqua lace with matching mitts and carried a bouquet of aqua and white carnations.  Mr. Rohde and Mr. Hart were the groom’s attendants.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Rohde home.

Out of town guests attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nibbe, Mrs. Genevieve Hardan and twins, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nibbe of Red Wing, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hart and family of Ellsworth;  Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Oligney of Alma Center; Mr. and Mrs. John H. Bryner and Mr. and Mrs. William Kuberra of Humbird; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hofferman and daughter, Alice, of Boulder; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rahn of Neillsville; Miss Norma Beck of Theresa, and Mrs. William Rohde and daughter, Rachal of Jeneau.

The couple is touring the wester states, and when they return they will reside in Eau Claire.

The bride, who had been teaching for the past eight years, is a high school and college graduate.  The groom is employed with the Northern States Power Co. at Eau Claire.

To the newlyweds, the Loyal Tribune extends its wishes for a long and happy married life.
