Kozik, Atta (17 JUN 1950)

Zion Lutheran Church in Colby was the scene of the wedding on Saturday afternoon, June 17, 1950, when Miss Atta Kozik of Chicago, daughter of Mrs. Emma Kozik of Viking, Ia., became the bride of Frederick A. Dins of Abbotsford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Dins of Colby.  The Rev. O. Hoffman performed the 2:30 o’clock double ring ceremony.

For her wedding, the bride chose a lace over heavy satin entrained gown, styled with a tight fitting bodice, high scalloped neckline, long sleeves coming to points over the wrists, and an imported lace peplum starting from the front and tapering to floor length in back.  Her fingertip veil fell from a lace and pearl trimmed sweetheart bonnet tiara.  White roses, carnations and sweet pears composed her cascade bouquet.

Bridal attendants were three sisters of the bride, Miss Viola Kozik of Chicago, attired in a heavy white marquisette over pink satin, was the maid of honor.  A fitted bodice, full skirt and a cape effect collar with appliqued flowers detailed her gown.  A pink hat, matching mitts and a bouquet of pink roses and white carnations completed her ensemble.

The bridesmaids, Mrs. Alvin Wiegman of Chicago, her twin sister, and Mrs. Robert Dwors of Cleveland, Ohio, wore white over blue and yellow, respectively.  Their gowns were styled like that worn by the maid of honor.  They carried bouquets of peach and yellow roses with white and blue carnations.

The groom’s niece, Ardis Schauer, was flower girl.  She wore a white gown styled the same as the other attendants and carried a basket of assorted flowers.

Attendants of the groom include his brother, Andy Dins, as best man, and Edwin Frome and Donald Wiersig, his cousins, who also served as ushers.

Mrs. Kozik attended her daughter’s wedding attired in a navy sheer dress, while the groom’s mother wore a navy print dress.  White accessories and corsages of pink roses and carnations were chosen by both mothers.

A 5 o’clock dinner was served for the immediate family in the Hotel Charles at Marshfield, and a reception was held afterward at the Dins home in Colby.

The bride, who is well known in this vicinity, has been employed at the General Corporation in Chicago, and the groom is engaged in farming.  When the couple returns from a honeymoon trip to Yellowstone National Park and other points of interest in the west, they will be at home to friends on their farm west of Colby.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
