Rossman, Adolph P. (22 MAY 1862 - 11 APR 1950)

 

Adolph Paul Rossman, 87, died at the Wis. General Hospital in Madison at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Apr. 11, 1950.  Death was caused by a stroke and heart attack.

 

Mr. Rossman was born on May 22, 1862, in Plymouth, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Rossman.  He came to this vicinity (Clark Co., Wis.) to live at the age of seven.  Except for 12 years which he spent in the far west, the rest of his years were spent here.  He was married to Annie Klein in 1895, and she died in 1933.  He was married to Mrs. Stena Lyle in 1940.

 

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Hazel) Walker and Mrs. Stanley (Esther) Ashby of Madison, Mrs. Rex (Kathryn) Frankling of San Pedro, Calif., and Mrs. Walter (Ruth) Goehring of Detroit, Mich.; one son, Robert Rossman of Eau Claire; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Elmer Rossman of Wilmington, Calif., and Ira Rossman of Eugene, Ore., and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Moulton of Long Beach, Calif., Miss Mabel Rossman of Claremont, Calif., and Mrs. Lucy Keyes of Chicago.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Apr. 13, at Loyal Funeral Home.  The Rev. Raymond J. Fleming, pastor of the Marshfield Methodist Church, officiated.  Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Robert Rossman, Rex Franklin, Harry Walker, Philip and Stanley Ashby, and Harold Obert.

 

Mrs. Ray Prior and Mrs. G. W. nelson sang "The End of the Road: and "Beulah Land," with Donna Mae Gotter at the organ.

 

Out of town people attending the services included Mrs. Ruth Goehring of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ashby, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Obert, Philip Ashby, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Walker, Mrs. Ira Smith and Mrs. Opal Ihlenfeldt, all of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Rex Franklin of San Pedro, Mrs. Lucy Keyes and daughter, Mrs. J. Browne, and Mrs. Rossman Keyes of Chicago, Richard Klein of Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rossman and son, George, of Eau Claire; Mrs. Douglas McPheson of Litchfield, Ill., and Dr. and Mrs. M. B, Ketchpaw of Bloomer.
