Cornwell, Meta E. (15 MAR 1903 - 24 JAN 1966)

 

Mrs. Meta E. Cornwell, 62, passed away at a hospital in Virginia, Minn., on Monday, Jan. 24, 1966.  She had been in poor health for several years.

 

Mrs. Cornwell was born in Perkinstown, Wis., on March 15, 1903.  She was married to earl Cornwell at Jump River on May 10, 1922.  They lived in Taylor County until 1939 when they moved to Clark County.  In 1954 the family moved to Ely, Minn.

 

Funeral services were held Friday from the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley and burial took place in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

 

Pallbearers were: Nicholas and Julius Klapatauskas, Jr., Wallace Kuehl, Jr., Elroy Kuehl, Leroy Forestr and Gary Mabie.

 

Survivors include five sons and eight daughters: Calvin, St. Paul Park, Minn.; Vernon, Markesan, Wis.; Leland, Ripon, Wis.; David and Herbert, Ely, Minn.; Mrs. Vaughn (Amelia) Forestr, Stanley; Mrs. Julius (Frieda) Klapatauskas, Thorp; Mrs. Wallace (Vera) Kuehl, Finland, Minn.; Mrs. Kurt (Eva) Bushkirk, Hopkins, Minn.; Mrs. Donald (Gladys) Mabie, Catawba, Wis.; Mrs. Wayne (Meta) Murphy, Ely, Minn.; Mrs. Maynard (Lois) Hartshorn and Mrs. Thomas (Phyllis) Mabie, Ely, Minn.; 48 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Daniel Dutzle, Owen and Ernest Dutzle, thorp; two half-brothers, August Griesback and William Griesback, Medford.

 

Her husband, Earl Sr. and a son Earl Jr. preceded her in death.
