Krehmeyer, Joy M. (29 JUL 1929 - 21 AUG 2010)

 

NEILLSVILLE -- Joy M. Krehmeyer, 82, of Neillsville died peacefully at home with her husband at her side Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Joy was born July 29, 1929, in Irvington, Neb., to George "Thomas" and Margaret (Anderson) Dein. Joy grew up in the Omaha, Neb., area. Joy was married to Merle Krehmeyer on Feb. 18, 1947. Joy and Merle moved to Neillsville in 1953, where they purchased a farm. Joy dairy farmed for many years.

Joy loved the farm, her cattle, chickens and everything about country living. She had a special place in her heart for horses and her dogs. Joy also enjoyed reading, antiquing, toy collecting and bird watching

Joy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Merle; sons, Gary (Delores) Krehmeyer of Spencer, Dan (Linda) Krehmeyer, Jerry (Melva) Krehmeyer and Randy (Cheryl) Krehmeyer, all of Neillsville; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Faye Beales of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Wayne Dein of Blair, Neb.; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry.

A private family service is planned.

Evergreen Funeral Home and Crematory in Eau Claire is serving the family.
